Right before the Christmas holiday, a kindhearted man reached out to Hope For Paws. He said that some homeless dogs, a father, and its son, lives in a yard. The person who called also mentioned that there was a mom. But sadly, the mom got hit by a car and died instantly.
As soon as the rescue institution received the call, Eldad Hagar and Loreta Frankonyte hopped into their car and drove to the given location. At the scene, the Good Samaritan ushered the rescuers to where the dogs usually stay; they sleep under the stairs of an old house.
The rescuers quickly set up the removable plastic fencing to secure the area. They wanted to make sure they don’t scare the dogs away. Loreta then slowly approached. The son was curious, but the father is so fearful that he chose to observe from a distance.
Loreta gave the younger dog a bite of the cheeseburger. Slowly, she worked on gaining his trust. And once she did, she secured him by placing a leash around his neck and then named him Speedy.
After spending a few minutes with the son, Loreta approached the father. She also offered him some food. And although the poor dog shook uncontrollably because of fear, he let his rescuer pet him.
Loreta waited for the father to relax a bit, so she let him be as she did Speedy. Once he did, she placed a leash around him and proceeded to call him Sylvester. Soon, Speedy joined his dad and, with his gestures, assured his dad that they are safe with the rescuers.
Loreta and Eldad spent a few more minutes with Speedy and Sylvester before they headed back home. The moment the dogs felt they are safe, the team drove straight to the hospital, where the father and son duo received their much-needed bath. Before long, the pair proceeded to their foster home at PAL Animal Rescue and soon left for their forever homes.
