Rescuers from Hope for Paws, a nonprofit organization famous for their rescue videos, received a report about a pregnant pit bull that’s been living in thick bushes in their neighborhood. The caller said the dog was missing an eye and looked like she was about to give birth. They haven’t seen her for days as she rarely goes out of hiding.
The bushy area she stays in is next to a busy road, and the dog, or her eventual puppies, could wander to the street and get hurt.
Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the rescuers quickly went off to retrieve the pooch. It was the middle of the night, but it didn’t matter to them. Within an hour, a two-person rescue team was in the area. They wanted to get her before she gave birth.
Surprise
As the bushes were thick and spanned a whole street, the rescuers had difficulty looking for the pregnant dog. They had to spread open leaves and branches to take a peek inside. After more than ten minutes, they finally found the homeless pooch.
And when they got a closer look, they saw that the dog had given birth already. She had three adorable-looking puppies next to her. The mom was scared of the humans, but she refused to leave her puppies.
Rescued
The rescuers eventually got the stray out of the bushes, and they gently removed the puppies one by one. They were then taken to their shelter, where a vet declared them healthy. A week later, the dog family was moved to a foster home.
They called the stray dog iris, and her puppies were named Seth, Nathaniel, and Meg. All of them have flourished in their foster home and are now ready for adoption. They will all be an excellent addition to any family.
