We always worry about the safety of all our children, especially while they are away from home. Even while our children are in school, we are always fearful that something awful will happen to them. For instance, we worry about them crossing the street, despite the fact that there are always grownups with them.
Locals in the Georgian city of Batumi have transformed a stray dog into a hero. Kupata is a stray dog who roams Batumi’s streets. However, he is unlike the other stray canines in the city. Kupata is not at all timid, and he has volunteered to be a crossing guard for children crossing the street.
When children from a nearby school cross the street, Kupata barks loudly and even chases after cars that fail to yield at the crossing to warn them of the children. The heroics of Kupata were captured on multiple cameras and posted countless times on social media.
Even though the children crossing the street are accompanied by an adult, Kupata took it upon himself to ensure that vehicles have that additional warning so they can slow down and stop for the children. People praised Kupata, and he became a local hero as a result.
There are not a lot of tourists visiting their place. However, as a result of Kupata’s heroics, local tourists became curious about Batumi and began to learn more about it. Even the Georgia tourism board accepted Kupata and made him the city’s mascot. Even more recently, a mural was painted in Kupata’s honor.
Now, Kupata has his own social media account, which displays videos of his crossing guard duties and his daily life. Kupata is a truly exceptional dog, and he deserves every bit of his fame and attention.
Great job, Kupata! You are definitely a hero in your own way!
