Rescuing dogs in groups can be tricky. This is the case with mother dogs who are with her puppies.
Depending on the circumstances, sometimes the rescuers have to rescue the puppies first and go back for the mother later. The rescuer Grace Keilbach experienced this in her latest dog rescue story.
Grace saw a mother dog while she was in Saipan. When she tried to give it food, the dog moved to a nearby bush which revealed something. The rescuer saw the puppies that were kept hidden in the greenery.
The rescuer saw that the puppies had a bloated stomach. This usually indicates the presence of worms in their digestive system. This also meant that the puppies had to be transported to a veterinary clinic as soon as possible.
The puppies were safely placed inside Grace’s vehicle, but the mother dog couldn’t be caught. The dog always backed away whenever Grace tried to approach. The rescuer had no choice but to come back for the mother dog the next day.
Grace’s plan was to win over the mother dog by feeding her every day. However, things didn’t go as planned; something better happened. After a few minutes, the mother dog approached the rescuer’s car and jumped through the window, going into the car.
Grace brought the mother dog to her home, where the puppies were also housed. As soon as the dog heard the cries of her puppy outside the door, she became hypervigilant. Then upon entering the room where the puppies are, the mother dog quickly searched and approached them.
The puppies were overwhelmingly excited to see their mother again. They wagged their cute tails and made lots of noises, as one would expect during such a reunion. Grace was happy that she could make the reunion happen sooner than later.
